CHRIS CORNELL DEAD AT AGE 52

Grammy winning rock legend Chris Cornell died last night at the age of 52. He was in Detroit on tour with his band Soundgarden . Authorities are calling it a possible suicide based on what they found on the scene. Chris was found unresponsive when he was found by a friend inside of his MGM Grand hotel room at the urging of his wife. Cornell’s wife did not offer any explanation as to why she asked his friend to check up on Chris, but she did ask the public for privacy and thank his fans for all the love and support for her husband through out the years.

According to TMZ,  Sources who spoke with Chris’ wife Thursday morning told TMZ, she spoke with her husband during sound check before he took the stage in Detroit and after Wednesday night’s show. According to our sources, Vicky says Chris was NOT in any way, shape or form in a suicidal state. She doubled down and said there were no signs he was at all depressed.

We’re told Vicky tried reaching Chris in his hotel room early Thursday morning but he was not answering. She became concerned and asked someone to call hotel security. That’s when Chris’ body was discovered.

Vicky told people Thursday morning he was devoted to his kids — ages 16, 12 and 11 — and she didn’t believe he would take his life.

Chris Cornell was the frontman of Soundgarden and super group Audioslave. Soundgarden was one of the pioneers of the grunge sound from Seattle. They disbanded in 1997. From 97 – 2001, Chris embarked on a solo career. In 2001 he came together with the remaining members of Rage Against The Machine to form Audioslave.  Audioslave released 3 albums in 6 years before they disband.

Chris Cornell had a true blue rock god voice and he and it will be missed.
